Who we are ?

Himalayan Camera Club (HCC) is a FIP (Federation of Indian Photography) recognized photography Club which strives to deal with the creative, documentary and aesthetic aspect of photography. The main aim of the organization is to foster photography among people who have a creative inclination and to help finding a parallel way of living other than that of living life as treading on the trodden path.

The Club was established on 12th January 2009 with a very few photo enthusiasts. Chandrani Mondal was nominated as the first president and Subrata Kar was chosen as the secretary of the organization. In the same year the club received recognition from FIP (Federation of Indian Photography), recognition no. is CM-000685. Each of the members put their maximum contribution towards the development of the club and made it a well-recognized place to pursue photography.

In 2010 HCC organized its first-ever salon of photography in association with Photographic Association of Coochbehar and Alipurduar Photographic Club. Encouragement and constant support from photo lovers made the bonding strong and slowly the club started expanding its activities by giving everyone an opportunity to test their photography skill and the passion for demonstrating the art of photography. Although it was a hazardous task with only a few members then, but was managed successfully.
